This service is for invited users only. To keep it, and your information, safe, we monitor how it is accessed.
When you use this service, we record security information about each request:
We also record whether a request matched a known pattern of misuse. Network addresses are stored in scrambled (hashed) form wherever we can.
We do not record your passwords, what you type into forms, or the content you view inside the service for security monitoring.
We record it to detect and stop attempts to break in or misuse the service. That includes temporarily blocking a connection that behaves like an attack. Some parts of the service exist only to detect misuse, and normal use never reaches them.
This is necessary to protect the service and the people who use it. It is our legitimate interest, and our duty under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) to keep personal information secure.
Only the people responsible for running and securing this service. It is processed by our security providers on our behalf, under agreement, and is not sold or shared for any other purpose.
Detailed security records are kept for up to 90 days, and summaries for longer. Records needed to investigate a security incident may be kept until the investigation ends.
You may ask what security information we hold about your use of this service, ask for it to be corrected, or object to its use, by contacting your account administrator. You may also complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa (inforegulator.org.za).
